Exploring a realm of total darkness
Your pupils pulse as they attempt to see
But you are used to this by now
Living alone in your succumbing tomb
If only I were to suppress the right words
To explain to you the beauty of a sunset
How softly the wind chimes through the leaves at dusk
Birds humming their songs to the sky
Sensing the night taking over
Cooling the land like a damp blanket
If only I were to come up with a way
To describe the serenity of viewing a snowfall
The icy flakes touching your skin and melting into you
The silence you hear during the night when your shoes become wet
Tasting the chill as you catch them on your tongue
If someday I could draw a picture in your mind
I would tell you about your body
The touch of eyelashes, like butterfly kisses, on your cheek
The swirling orb of a single eye that sits like a snowball
Inside your face
Exploring a realm of total darkness
Your pupils pulse as they attempt to see
But you are used to this by now
Why’d they pick you for blind?
