White veils darkness
Shielding me from harm
Silently falling
Snowflake by snowflake
Onto my world
Like money to the poor
Like an amulet to a talisman
Like the letters themselves unto words
Like a slave released of labor
Like a knight who yields a saber
I receive you
My heart reads clear
No fuzzy signals
Only pure solitude
In this fairy tale
I live upon the ivory
I drink upon my tears
And feast upon the pain
But in my dreams
My dreams that pertain to you
I live upon the shield
Drink from the Scarlet River
Indulge in the sweet, sweet song
Of love
Seeping into my soul
The stagnant tide arises
Erasing the emptiness
Penciling in the purity
I came close to the gravesite
Upon which I would soon reside
I laid crimson daisies for you
The snow beats down
Solid as stone
Like the stone that bears your name
It creates a gap in the void
When you held me
You melted my being
I could drink from the spring
The purest water of the Nile
But now it’s frozen
To leave me with not a sip
To keep me from what might slip
You told me you wanted to jump
I said I’d join you if I hadn’t something more important
But I was to await your arrival at the bottom
For I will surly catch you
This is a late start
But you’re falling fast
I can’t let you land
Without me
I must come quick
To your aid, I’ll be there
So you can land safely in my arms
The arms you should have never walked away from
