Driven to see past a forlorn pain
I lie await under the midnight sky
Cool night air brings nature’s icy claws
To tear the clouds and let the sparkles fly
The sky envelopes into a falling, white light
I lie still as stone upon this blanket of ivory
That’s hiding the allergy that comes with fall
I gaze upon the silhouette of the trees
Watching as the last leaves shiver as they let go
Faintly, I can almost taste nature’s frozen grasp
Finally feeling at ease with the toils of life
I smile with complete serenity
The crystals caress my cheeks like butterfly wings
As they glide like ice dancers down the curves of my face
So quite in this atmosphere
As the clouds patch themselves together again
And float secretly away
Silence overwhelming my senses
I can hear autumn give her place to winter
While breathing the bittersweet scent of the wind
I can smell every snowflake that has bore itself tonight
Thinking of the past in nature’s snowy hands
I close my eyes in sweet release
And realize I can feel my exact moment of surrender
Finally at peace in this city
With Mother Nature’s blinding-white purity
