When I look at the midnight sky
I think of your mystery
You are the chemical within every star
That gives them what they need to shine
You are the oxygen enlaced with the atmosphere
Without you I couldn’t breathe
Trying to imagine your taste
I realize that nothing can compare
The taste of flesh, the taste of love
The delicacy of everything you do
Is like that of a python
Curving gracefully through your surroundings
Feeding on my fear, like a rat
While I tremble
You are the rosary held fast by a nun
In her dying hour
For you give off eternal life
And promise of a place called forever
I believe in you
Not as a mortal believes in the supernatural
But you, as a person
Life will lead you far; I see it in your eyes
Can you imagine…
Betraying the one you know holds the sun?
Having guilt overcome you
And not to let it out would eat you from your epicenter out?
And when you confess
Your burden tapers off as they begin to cry?
But I am speaking of the moment before the tears
The realization and the surrender
You are that moment to me
A moment of such raw and pure emotion…
I release myself inside of you
Tell me not of the past
For you are my future
A failsafe plan to invoke adoration
Within every vein of my existence
You are the silence during winter’s first snow
When you go outside
To everything being enwrapped in its ivory blanket
And you could hear a tear drop in its quietness
