OCTOBER

With blood-soaked tears from the pain you brought forth
I scream into your shattered soul
Open to the world
The wound in my heart cries out for shelter

Breathing and actually feeling
The dampness of the October night
I no longer take my lungs for granted

My coffin is soiled in your blood
But isn’t that how it should be?
Your blood mixed with my tears
And knowing your life has ended here

The epicenter of your life is your blood
Without it you cannot live
But I have stolen your veins
And took them as my own

I know now that a wish you can’t take back
Is like burning a bridge before you cross
And a dream you thought was only a nightmare
Was as real as my blade on your flesh
