THE WIND STILL BLOWS

Lying here in the grass
I look up at the sky
Remembering how I thought we'd last
I try to find the reason why

So many times we'd said how our spirits were one
We'd talk at night lying in our bed
Saying we'd never be alone

When I'd look in your eyes
I knew with you I belonged
And you made me realize how it felt to be loved

But the wind still blows and I live on
Without you though I feel half gone
You'll never know how much I've died
Still, the wind blows as I lay here and cry

I thought I'd come see again the place where we first kissed
Beside the tree with the broken limb

It's still as I remember
The soft hills waving gold
And the trees are still standing that once witnessed our love

Lying here in endless dreams
I wonder where you are
Although with you I thought I'd be…
I hope life takes you far

Yes, the wind still blows and we live on
Without each other, without our love
We'll never know because we never tried
Still, the wind blows our love has died
